We continue working with St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Packing Bags of Food for community members who are in need. Volunteers are needed on Wednesdays at 3:30 pm (for about hour) at St. Thomas Church. We will be packing bags with non-perishable foods so the families can put together 2-3 meals for the week.
If you would like to sign-up for a one-hour Wednesday, please call Grace Sears (859-779-0285) or James Anderson (859-625-4059) Which Wednesday would you like? 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th? We need 2-3 volunteers per Wednesday.

Gift Cards SCAM
Please Note:
The clergy, vestry or other members of the congregation will never ask you for gift cards, (even when the sender might appear to be someone you know).
- These type of requests will typically give you the impression there is a timely response needed, such as "please email/text me back as soon as possible"
- If you dive into their email address, beyond what you initially see, you will find it is not the email of the person you know.
- Again, the email, website or given links might look very real.
- Do NOT Click on the links or website. Sometimes that click can give the sender access to your personal information.
- VERIFY the email address/text phone number or links that you personally have for the supposed sender or call the phone number that you have for said person.
- You will find the sender indicates an urgency for your response, but initially does not indicate the issue. Should you respond back, the sender then tells you they are collecting gift cards for a serious cause, and in some cases the collection is secret.
- It's easy to fall for the SCAM!
- One of our member indicated they intentionally responded with "Call Me", and of course never received a phone call.
- It's easy to fall for the SCAM, because it looks real.
The best action you can take is:
- Do Not Respond to the sender.
- Verify the supposed sender's communication routes via the information you have on file (not the sender's).
